'The mattresses and made-to-measure colored cushions give the space a lively and vibrant atmosphere.' 'It is the perfect corner to admire the mountain and watch the sunset. 'We recreated a cozy outdoor patio area with key furniture - a sofa, armchair, a rug, and a floor lamp bring warmth to the space,' says Caroline Savin, co-founder of Bloomint Design who designed the below patio. Opt for browns, oranges and neutral tones and layer fabrics to give your patio an indulgent feel., Keep your palette autumnal with colors that remind you of the season and mimic the surrounding nature. As with your interiors, it all comes down to lighting, texture for coziness, and colorways. This one is the C3 Herringbone Linen Indoor/Outdoor Rug.When it comes to creating that cozy patio feel, there are certain elements you need to focus on. Now check out how perfectly clean it is after it was completely dry! But alas… I referred to Dash & Albert’s cleaning guide on their website and was pleased to find out bleach is recommended for difficult stains (as long as you rinse it out well)! I have to admit I was a little worried that spaghetti stain wouldn’t come out very easily, since it wouldn’t budge with water like the other two did. Here’s a little video I did showing how I cleaned each one. So I started with a few things that are known to wreak havoc on light colored rugs and are likely to get spilled under a dining room table: Spaghetti sauce, chocolate sauce, and mushed up strawberries (raspberries had the same result). I wanted to show you all how easy these rugs are to clean and despite their light color, every food stain you can imagine comes out! It looks like it was ‘meant to be’ doesn’t it? The colors and pattern are so up my alley. This is the Rugby Stripe Light Blue Indoor/Outdoor Runner Rug. I would highly recommend carpet tape when using flat-weave rugs over a hard surface… the shifting will drive you nuts if you don’t! I also used some carpet tape to secure the corners and middle so that it doesn’t shift when we walk over it. I folded over the cut edge and used some upholstery thread to sew that side down so it wouldn’t unravel. We have had them for almost 2 months now and I’m still impressed!īecause my kitchen is on the smaller side, I cut the runner (which is normally 8 feet long) down to fit perfectly in my space. Any spot or stain that occurred from dirt or food simply wiped clean with a damp rag! I had never beheld such sorcery from a rug. But after a week with them in place I was sold. As I alluded to, I was skeptical at first because of how light colored they were and I was worried about their stain-ability. I was beyond impressed with these indoor/outdoor rugs from Dash and Albert by Annie Selke. I had been contemplating for a while adding a runner in the kitchen, but I hadn’t even considered a rug for our dining room because I knew what a hassle it could be to clean! But I figured this could be a sort of “test run” to see how I would like a rug in there. This post is sponsored by Annie Selke Company.įor the photoshoot back in February, the stylist ordered a couple rugs for my kitchen and dining room.
